Akropoditi: on tiptoe—quietly, carefully, yet boldly, transcending the fragility of boundaries.
The Akropoditi Center for Dance and Performing Arts has been operating in Syros since January 2013 and is a dynamic space for creation, education, and artistic expression focused on contemporary dance and the performing arts.
Its main activities include running a studio program (September–June), offering dance and movement classes for children and adults, the Akropoditi DanceFest International Festival of Dance and Performing Arts, held every July in Syros with workshops, performances, improvisations, and parallel events, as well as the creation of original works through the Akropoditi dance theater group. At the same time, the center organizes workshops and artistic activities and hosts artists through artistic residency programs, offering a space for research, creation, and exchange.
Akropoditi’s goal is to strengthen artistic education, support contemporary artistic creation, and develop an open, inclusive space for meeting and collaboration. Through its activities, it promotes local community participation, intercultural dialogue, and international artistic exchange, while contributing to the cultural development of Syros and the wider region.
