E.Y.TH.Y.T.A. (Association for the Support of Road Accident Victims) ROODOS ROAD SAFETY OBSERVATORY is a non-profit, non-governmental organization dedicated to road safety.
It was founded on June 6, 2004, by a group of concerned citizens, including scientists from various fields, victims and relatives of traffic accident victims, as well as concerned individuals, following an initiative by President Eleni Karidi, following the tragic loss of her son, Dimitris Karidis, at the age of 19, at the hands of a reckless driver under the influence of alcohol.
Vision: Zero Traffic Accidents – No Deaths on the Road.
Its objectives:
a) Providing medical advice, medical-social support (information on rights and obligations), technical counseling, psychological and social support, and ensuring financial assistance for the most vulnerable, particularly victims and their families.
b) the pursuit of effective and comprehensive road accident prevention by the competent authorities as well as any natural or legal person involved, in order to drastically reduce the number of road accident victims,
c) the ongoing effort to inform and raise public awareness about safer road traffic and to align legislation, attitudes, and road behavior in general with those in countries where a significant reduction in traffic accidents has been achieved,
