The cultural association was founded in 1995 under the name “Cultural Association of the Melana Community of Naxos” – “Kouros Ellinas” and is based in the community of Melana.
The association’s objectives are to address the cultural, economic, and social issues facing the villages in the community, to enhance the cultural and educational level of the residents, to preserve traditions, and to carry out public service projects. The association is active in organizing events (dance and theater performances), while at the same time keeping the relevant authorities informed about community matters and taking a stance on political issues by submitting memoranda and proposals to the appropriate officials.
