Organization profile

Paros
Year of establishment: 2003
The Hellenic Rescue Team – Cyclades Branch, based in Naoussa, Paros, began its operations in March 2003, in collaboration with the Central Offices in Thessaloniki, and in December 2003 became a member of the General Secretariat for Civil Protection with registration number 27/2003.
Its purpose is to prevent and respond to incidents, such as accidents at sea, fires, etc., in the wider region of the central Aegean.
It collaborates with the Operations Center of the Ministry of Shipping, the Port Authority of Paros on search and rescue at sea, with the Paros Fire Department on firefighting, and with the Cyclades Police Department on searches for missing persons (in Paros, Serifos, Sikinos, Amorgos).
It participates in Central Administration readiness exercises and attends training seminars (Firefighting, First Aid, Telecommunications, Marine Pollution Response) both on and off Paros.
It has a 10-meter rescue boat (CHIARA), provided by the German rescue organization DGzRS,
and a fire truck, donated by a private individual.
We recently received a donation of a dog—a German Shepherd—which is being trained for Search and Rescue.
The members of the First Aid department are trained and certified by the European Resuscitation Council (ERC).
They conduct First Aid training for the public (adults and students) in Paros and on other Cycladic islands (Naxos, Serifos, and Sifnos).
