The Association of Volunteer Blood, Hematopoietic Cell, and Organ Donors of Rhodes, “ "Agios Efrem" is a non-profit organization operating in Rhodes with the aim of promoting voluntary blood donation, hematopoietic cell (bone marrow) donation, and organ donation.
Mission and Activities:
1. Voluntary Blood Donation:
Promotes voluntary blood donation to meet the needs of patients who require it, whether on a regular or emergency basis.
2. Bone Marrow Donation:
Raises public awareness about the importance of donating hematopoietic cells, providing information and support for the process of registering as a volunteer donor.
3. Organ Donation:
Informs citizens about the possibility and benefits of organ donation, strengthening cooperation with relevant agencies.
4. Education and Awareness:
Organizes events, lectures, and initiatives to promote the value of volunteerism, fostering solidarity and social consciousness.
5. Social Role:
The Association serves as a pillar of hope and life for the local community, making a
substantial contribution to strengthening the healthcare system. Thanks to its efforts, many
of our fellow citizens have been given a second chance at life.
