The objectives of the Association are: 1. To preserve, cultivate, and promote the cultural elements of our region. In particular: a) history; b) the arts (literature, music, dance, architecture); c) folk traditions d) customs and traditions. 2. The organization of educational, recreational, and athletic events. 3. The preservation of our island’s archaeological treasures. 4. Participation in the efforts of the state and local government to resolve issues related to improving the quality of life for residents. 5. Collaboration with any association or group of individuals for the moral and material promotion of Amorgos’s interests. 6. Making every effort to protect the natural environment
The association’s objectives are achieved by any means, in particular: a) organizing lectures b) publishing materials c) establishing a cultural center d) establishing a lending library e) organizing artistic events f) organizing sports competitions g) organizing excursions h) through tree planting and landscaping.
The association’s geographical scope of activity primarily concerns Amorgos, with the aim, however, of promoting our island on the international stage.
The core members of the association have experience in promoting Amorgos’s folklore, primarily through the organization of local traditional festivals, the 1st Amorgos Culture and Arts Festival, and the Music and Dance Trails (an annual festival of traditional dances).
