Andros

Year of establishment: 1995

The Andros Film Club was founded in 1995 on the initiative of permanent winter residents of our island as part of an effort to fill the entertainment gap during the winter season; it is a nonprofit organization, which relies on the volunteer work of a group of members for its operation and is financially supported by annual membership dues, bar revenue, and ticket sales to the general public.

The Board of Directors for the 2023–2025 term consists of

Vangelis Loukisas
Socrates Bazakis
Marilena Xanthou
Efi Raptaki
Amalia Tinianou

The operation of the Club requires all the specific tasks necessary for running a cinema: planning the screening schedule, coordinating, negotiating, and ordering films from distribution companies, ticket cutting and admission control, preparing snacks, appetizers, and sweets for intermission, serving drinks, serving food, cleaning the premises, etc.

The Club aims to screen high-quality films. It regularly hosts retrospectives of Greek filmmakers and films from distinguished festivals, such as the Drama Film Festival, while also organizing screenings for students. Finally, it organizes special screenings upon request from interested associations and other organizations.
