Having many years of experience in the implementation of local LEADER strategies, the Development Company of Cyclades is going to submit a proposal in the context of the call published by the Ministry of Rural Development and Food for the new programming period, intervention Π3-77-4.1 “Support for local development through LEADER (Local Development with the Initiative of Local Communities)” of the Strategic Plan of the Common Agricultural Policy 2023-2027 in order to claim funding for the local LEADER program for the Cyclades.
For this reason, a consultation has started with the local population and bodies, public and private, that are active in the Cyclades, such as in the field of culture, tourism, the environment, the primary sector, with social agencies as well as with local government bodies, in order to: i) diagnose the needs of the region and prioritize them, and ii) define the local LEADER strategy and the interventions to be made based on the needs of the region.
As part of the information and consultation actions for the planning of the new Cyclades LEADER, the Social Inclusion Observatory held a working meeting with the Development Company of Cyclades S.A. on Tuesday, March 28, 2023. Firstly, Ms. Kalliopi Tsagaraki briefly presented the objectives of the new program, and then Ms. Kyriaki Kyritsi and Konstantina Kourkoumari, representing the Observatory, spoke about the surveys and actions that have been implemented in the period 2020-2023, further specifying some statistics, indicators as well as qualitative data that show the problems but also the opportunities in the social sector for the Cyclades.
