The first 3 months of 2025 for the South Aegean Social Inclusion Observatory at a glance!

NEWS – ANNOUNCEMENTS
10/04/2025

The South Aegean Social Inclusion Observatory continues its dynamic work in 2025 with awareness and networking activities, research initiatives, and new digital tools aimed at supporting municipalities and local communities on issues of social inclusion, acceptance, and integration.

The goal of the Social Inclusion Observatory team is to present its actions and results, while also promoting best practices and proposals that can improve daily life and strengthen sustainable social development across the Region.

Take a look at what we achieved during the first quarter of 2025:

“Accessibility in the South Aegean” – A thematic research project on accessibility in the South Aegean Region.

We started 2025 by conducting and completing a thematic research study on the critical issue of Accessibility. We explored and developed topics related to the daily lives of island residents, as well as issues affecting visitors and tourism services. Additionally, by examining the direct link between accessibility and sustainable development, the research highlights actions and best practices at the local level. The new digital tool of the Observatory: “Funding Sources”

We developed the new digital tool aimed at providing information on funding opportunities for social sector actions and programs. Through the website, interested citizens, legal entities, and municipalities can learn about current funding programs, grants, and more, where they can submit proposals for projects and actions. Additionally, with the help of a digital assistant (AI), communication becomes more immediate and user-friendly. The 1st Nationwide Conference of Regional Social Inclusion Observatories was successfully completed.

On Thursday, March 20, 2025, the 1st Nationwide Conference of Regional Social Inclusion Observatories was successfully held. It was organized by the South Aegean Observatory and attracted significant interest from representatives and organizations across Greece.

The conference focused on two main themes: Accessibility and Employment Integration. Through presentations, discussions and an open dialogue, the participants had the opportunity to expand the conversation between central government and local authorities, contributing to the coordination of Social Inclusion Observatories in Greece and strengthening the formulation of policies to improve social services.
