The Social Inclusion Observatory received a significant distinction at the Best City Awards 2026, winning the Bronze Award in the Sustainable City sector, in the category of Social Cohesion and Sustainable Development, during a ceremony held on January 11, 2026, at the Serafio of the Municipality of Athens.

This distinction confirms the Observatory’s essential role in shaping modern, evidence-based, and effective social inclusion policies in the Region of South Aegean. Through the use of data, the development of innovative tools, and collaboration with institutional and social stakeholders, the Observatory actively contributes to strengthening social cohesion and creating more inclusive local communities.
The awards, organized by Boussias Events under the auspices of KEDE (Central Union of Municipalities of Greece), highlight each year initiatives that enhance quality of life and promote sustainable development in Greek cities.
A key contribution to the operation and development of the project is made by Crowdpolicy, which supports the design and implementation of innovative solutions with expertise in digital governance and social innovation.

This recognition marks an important milestone for the Social Inclusion Observatory and at the same time serves as motivation to continue and further strengthen its actions, with the aim of building a society with more opportunities, equality, and strong social cohesion.
