On Tuesday, July 28, 2026, the Observatory conducted a research visit to the island of Andros, during which we spoke with the staff of the Community Center, the Directorate of Welfare, Education, and Tourism, the educator-in-charge of the “Iliachtida” Daycare Center, as well as the Association of Friends of the Fire Service.
The interviews highlighted the structural nature of social inclusion needs, as well as the dynamic potential of civil society in identifying appropriate ways to support the local population, in collaboration with local stakeholders. At the same time, they underscored the multifaceted role of daycare centers in the holistic development, socialization, and well-being of children.
