  • What does the Observatory do in a few words?

The Observatory, which has been operating since 2020, continues to record and analyze key socio-economic indicators related to social inclusion, employment, and quality of life in the South Aegean. At the same time, it develops digital tools to promote reliable information and provide suggestions for improving the standard of living on the islands of the South Aegean Region, with a focus on social integration and equal participation of citizens in society

  • How can I find information about a Municipality?

The South Aegean Region is a second-level Local Government Organization (LGO), divided into 13 Regional Units and administratively includes 34 Municipalities (first-level LGOs), 19 in the Cyclades and 15 in the Dodecanese. On the Observatory’s web portal, you can find information about each Municipality, including contact details (postal – email address and phone number) as well as the Municipality’s website. In addition, by clicking the “More” link, you can view information related to Social Services and Community Centers.

There, you can also see which activities have taken place since the Observatory began operating.   • How can I see what studies/surveys the Observatory has conducted?

You can view the Observatory’s studies and surveys, along with their findings, in the “Studies” section of our web portal. Every year, Field Surveys are carried out on the islands of the South Aegean, along with a Regional Survey on income and living conditions. This year, for the first time, a thematic survey on accessibility was also conducted.
