We would like to inform you that, in line with the field investigations in Kos and Naxos, the South Aegean Regional Social Inclusion Observatory successfully carried out an on-site field survey on the island of Thira between 20 July and 21 July 2021. The research was carried out by researchers of Crowdpolicy, which is the contractor of the project of the Region, as well as trained personnel from the University of the Aegean with the cooperation of the local Municipality and Community Centre.
The objective of field surveys is to broaden the living conditions of people and households affected by poverty and social exclusion and the factors leading to these social phenomena.
More specifically, we present to you three photos of the fieldwork in Thera, after the excellent cooperation we had with the Community Centre, which depicts Mr. Georgios Darzentas, Executive Councilor and Chairman of the Municipal Council and Mrs. Vasiliki Giannakopoulou, social worker and head of the Community Centre together with the two researchers.
The next research trips are being prepared for the current period, considering the health conditions laid down and respecting all protection measures to prevent the spread of the Coronavirus.
The Regional Social Inclusion Observatory would like to thank all participants for their cooperation and looks forward to the unhindered continuation of the research process, despite the difficult current circumstances.
